UVEF Presents: Hall of Fame Social Featuring Drew Major

UVEF will honor the entrepreneurial contributions of Drew Major in our Hall of Fame event this November 1st.   Drew was a co-founder at Novell and was the principle architect and developer of the NetWare operating system. Drew is credited with inventing the Local Area Network and pioneering computer network technologies that have become the backbone of every computerized industry. His work helped grow Novell to an international software powerhouse, raising Novell to become one of Utah’s largest and most successful employers and spawning the Utah County tech boom that solidified our footing as one of the hottest tech-producing markets in the world. Drew has gone on to grow industry success in Move Networks and many other projects that continue to challenge current thinking and raise the bar on the expectations of network computing. Please join UVEF in recognition of Drew’s work, contribution to our community, and continued excellence as we induct him into our UVEF Hall of Fame.   Eight presenters spend five minutes each in a rapid-fire presentation of concentrated business advice, tips, and ideas. Ten great business topics that move so fast you won’t have time to get bored. WTC Announces 17 Finalists for the Sixth Annual Women Tech Awards

The Women Tech Council is excited to announce the 17 finalists for the Sixth Annual Women Tech Awards. The program recognizes technology-focused women who are driving innovation, leading technology companies and are key contributors to the community. The event is presented by Ernst & Young, Stoel Rives, USTAR, ATK, eBay, HireVue, Wells Fargo and MountainWest Capital Network.  The finalists and award recipients will be honored at an awards luncheon on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at the Grand America Hotel. Over the past six years WTC has recognized 90 women and hosted 125+ STEM high school students at the event. Jennifer Lawton of MakerBot to Keynote 2013 Women Tech Awards

The Women Tech Council is pleased to announce that Jennifer Lawton, president of MakerBot, a leader in the desktop 3D printing industry and recently named by Fast Company as one of “The World’s Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Consumer Electronics,” will address the 6th annual Women Tech Awards luncheon.  The event will be held Thursday, September 12, at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. Jennifer Lawton represents the great things women are doing in technology.  3D printing is leading the Next Industrial Revolution and changing design and prototyping as we know it today. Lawton is at the forefront of that industry, helping drive one of the top 3D printing companies in the world.
